Mission
THE MISSION OF UNITED SOUTH END SETTLEMENTS IS TO HARNESS THE POWER OF OUR DIVERSE COMMUNITY TO DISRUPT THE CYCLE OF POVERTY FOR CHILDREN AND THEIR FAMILIES.
Program accomplishments
- USES provides families with a caring community where children grow up with access to quality education, individual and family advocacy, income supports, art, activity, and the outdoors. This intentional investment coupled with our breadth of resources sets them up to be lifelong learners, confident leaders, and active participants in their communities. Our programs serve children ages 0 to 13. Over the past year, we served 75 children in our Early Childhood Education classrooms, 86 children in our club48 after-school program, and 175 children at Camp Hale. Children participating in our programs showed growth in Social Emotional Learning, exceeded age-appropriate milestones in cognitive and physical development, showed growth in STEAM based skill areas, demonstrated kindergarten readiness, and improved literacy and numeracy through standard assessments.Expenses $3,603,085 · revenue $986,682
- In FY25, USES served 16 families in its STEP Guaranteed Income program, which provides $850 monthly payments over a period of 18 months. These families all have children enrolled in one of USES's three youth programs. The additional financial stability allows families to withstand financial shocks, alleviates financial stress, and supports a home environment that allows both parents and their children to thrive.Expenses $315,015 · grants $150,219
