What does a California organization pay?
Form 199 is added to the federal filing for $49.99: $74.98 with a Form 990-N, $149.98 with a Form 990-EZ. An organization whose gross receipts are normally $50,000 or less can file Form 199N with the FTB online at no charge instead.
Can I file a 990-N with the IRS directly?
Yes, for the current year: the IRS accepts it at no charge if you have a Login.gov or ID.me account. A 990-N for an earlier year can only be filed through an e-file provider such as 990.tax.
Does 990.tax file the full Form 990 or Form 990-PF?
No. 990.tax files Form 990-N, Form 990-EZ, Form 8868 and California Form 199.
