Mission

NAKALANDA PROJECT'S MISSION IS TO PROVIDE A FAITH-BASED APPROACH TO OUR SCHOOL, MEDICAL CLINIC, AND OUTREACH MINISTRIES IN NAKALANDA, UGANDA AND SURROUNDING COMMUNITIES.

990-EZ for the year ended December 31, 2024

Program accomplishments

  • EAGLETS PRIMARY SCHOOL: WE COMPLETED THE 2024 SCHOOL AS USUAL WITH 3 MONTH LONG TERMS WITH ONE MONTH BREAK BETWEEN EACH TERM. THE SCHOOL YEAR BEGAN THE BEGINNING OF FEBRUARY. OUR SCHOOL HAS 10 DIFFERENT LEVELS OR GRADES. THERE ARE 3 PRESCHOOL/KINDERGARTEN CLASSES, AND 7 PRIMARY LEVELS WHICH LOOSELY CORRESPONDS WITH THE US 1ST GRADE THROUGH 7TH GRADE. WE AGAIN ACHIEVED THE HIGHEST TEST SCORES IN OUR AREA. TESTING IS STATE RUN, WITH EVERY GRADE TAKING THE SAME TEST IN EVERY SCHOOL IN UGANDA. NO EXCEPTIONS. WE ARE CURRENTLY CERTIFIED WITH STATE, MEETING ALL SPECIFICATIONS REQUIRED. WE HAVE BEEN WORKING DILIGENTLY TO BECOME A REGISTERED FACILITY, WHICH ALLOWS US TO ADMINISTER THE STATE TESTS AT OUR OWN SCHOOL. CURRENTLY WE MUST TRANSFER OUR CHILDREN TO THE CLOSEST REGISTERED FACIALITY TO BE TESTED. IT WILL BE A MAJOR ACCOMPLISHMENT TO SEE FULFILLED. WE FULLY EXPECT TO SEE IT IN 2025. WE CONTINUE TO FEED OUR CHILDREN DAILY FOR FREE WITH APPROXIMATELY 72,000 MEALS PREPARED, AND GIVEN OUT THIS YEAR ALONE. IT HAS BEEN A CHALLENGE BECAUSE FOOD PRICES CONTINUE TO GO UP AS AFRICA CONTINUES TO HAVE DROUGHT CONDITIONS. WE ALSO CONTINUE TO OPERATE OUR SPONSORSHIP PROGRAM WHICH EITHER PAYS FULLY, OR ASSIST FAMILIES IN SCHOOL FEES. WE CURRENTLY HAVE 118 STUDENTS ENROLLED IN THIS PROGRAM. OUR ENROLLMENT REMAINS AT 400.
    Expenses $22,408
  • EAGLES NEST MEDICAL CENTER: WE CONTINUE TO BE CONSIDERED THE NUMBER 1 MEDICAL CLINIC IN OUR DISTRICT, NOW NUMBERING OVER 4,000 REGISTERED CLINICS. WE OFFER ULTRASOUND SCANS WITH "STATE OF THE ART" EQUIPMENT. THIS IS NOT OFFERED IN CLINICS, AND EVEN IN MANY SMALL HOSPITALS. WE ALSO CAN DO COMPUTERIZED BLOOD ANALYSIS PANELS. THIS IS ALSO UNHEARD OF IN CLINICS IN UGANDA. THIS YEAR WE HIRED A WELL QUALIFIED LICENSED MID-WIFE. WE ARE FOCUSING ON "LIVE" BIRTH, WHICH HAS ALWAYS BEEN A REAL PROBLEM IN UGANDA. WE REGULARLY GO TO SURROUNDING AREAS TO GIVE FEE EDUCATIONAL TALKS IN AN ATTEMPT TO BETTER EDUCATE OUR COMMUNITIES OF THE VALUE OF A "MEDICALLY SOUND BIRTH." THE MAJORITY OF BIRTHS IN UGANDA ARE HOME BIRTHS, WITH MANY ON DIRT FLOORS. AT THIS TIME. WE HAVE QUADRUPLED THE NUMBER OF BIRTHS COMPARED TO 2023.
    Expenses $60,403
  • ELDERLY AID: WE ASSIST ANY OF THE LARGE NUMBER OF ELDERLY IN OUR AREA. HELP RANGES FROM A FEW PILLS (MEDICATION) THEY CANNOT AFFORD, TO PAYING FOR PROCEDURES IN A HOSPITAL THAT GOES BEYOND OUR CLINICS LEGAL SCOPE OF WORK. WE ALSO DO REPAIRS ON THEIR MUD HUTS (HOME) AS WE CAN. WE CONCENTRATE ON A NUMBER OF ELDERLY WHO HAVE NO FAMILY. WE CALL THEM OUR "ORPHANED ELDERLY." MOST OF THE TIME OUR "ORPHANED ELDERLY" ARE MORE NEEDY THEN THE ORPHANED CHILDREN, FOR THERE ARE MANY GOVERNMENT PROGRAMS FOR ORPHANED CHILDREN, BUT NOT ONE SINGLE PROGRAM FOR THE ORPHANED ELDERLY. WE CONSIDER IT A PRIVILEGE TO WORK WITH THIS PARTICULAR FOCUS GROUP.
    Expenses $14,614
  • EAGLES NEST RETREAT CENTER: WE CONTINUE TO COMPLETE THE PROJECT, AND ARE DOWN TO THE HUNDREDS OF DETAILS REMAINING. WE ARE LOOKING AT OPENING STILL THIS YEAR. WE DO HAVE GROUPS VISIT US ON AN REGULAR BASIS, WE ARE JUST NOT FORMALLY OPENED.
