Mission
Girls on the Run-DC is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization with the mission of inspiring girls to be joyful, healthy, and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum that creatively integrates running.
Program accomplishments
- Girls on the Run-DC (GOTR-DC) is a before and after-school based positive youth development program serving over 1,800 girls per year across all eight wards of the District and Prince George's County, MD. The goal of the program is for girls to develop strength and character, respond to others and oneself with care and compassion, create positive connections with peers and adults, and make a meaningful contribution to community and society. 70% of girls in the program receive financial assistance from GOTR-DC.
