Promoting healthy communities in Hillsborough County free of substance abuse and addiction through education, collaboration and advocacy.

990 for the year ended September 30, 2025

Program accomplishments

  • Our contract with the Florida Department of Children and Families as managed through Central Florida Behavioral Health Network allows HCADA to facilitate a community planning process for the prevention and reduction of substance use disorders . HCADA uses the Strategic Prevention Framework public heath approach recommended by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration. This model recognizes that no institution or organization alone can address these issues. It is only through strong community support and collaboration that we can make the necessary changes to make Hillsborough County safe and free from substance abuse and addiction. HCADA utilizes the Strategic Prevention Framework process to plan and implement environmental and evidence-based strategies to prevent and reduce substance abuse and related consequences among residents in Hillsborough County, FL. The work of HCADA is accomplished through it task forces: Tampa Alcohol Coalition, Prescription Drug/Opioid Abuse Task Force, Marijuana Task Force, and General Membership. Other Task Forces or workgroups are formed on an ad hoc basis as community need warrants.
    Expenses $140,572 · grants $58,870 · revenue $58,870
  • HCADA receives funding from the Hillsborough County Department of Health Care Services to implement educational programs for youth caught on school campuses with tobacco, vape products, or marijuana. In addition, the County provides funding for other community education projects on emerging drug trends our community needs to be aware of, and our annual Indicator Report which highlights our county statistics around drug use and its related consequences
    Expenses $60,245 · grants $24,996 · revenue $24,996
