Mission
IAR rescues, cares for and finds homes for abandoned and abused animals in central North Carolina, promotes spaying/neutering of companion animals, reduces pet overpopulation by spaying/neutering feral cats and educates children in animal welfare.
Program accomplishments
- Nearly 700 cats and dogs were placed in foster homes, a similar number to previous years. Over 2,200 feral cats from 29 counties were spayed/neutered and vaccinated, a significant increase from previous years and a record number for IAR. Although our Community Spay and Neuter Program (CSNP) had to be suspended due to a lack of mobile clinic availability, we were able to help 34 owned pets receive needed veterinary care through our Owned Animal Program.Expenses $381,311
