Mission
Giving Hope and Help mission is to support domestic violence survivors, provide essential resources to end period poverty, empower college bound and nontraditional students and inspire cancer patients, lifting all those we serve to live their best life.
Program accomplishments
- Giving Hope and Help, Inc. was launched in honor of Founder and President Jessica L. McClellan's Thanksgiving birthday. The inaugural Thanksgiving Birthday marked the beginning of the organization's mission with the 1st Annual Feminine Hygiene Product Drive, collecting over 5,000 sanitary napkins and tampons to benefit Hope House, a domestic violence shelter with two locations in Jackson County. Since that first initiative, Giving Hope and Help (GH&H) has expanded its reach, now supporting over 30 domestic violence shelters and places of refuge. In 2015, GH&H launched its first annual feminine product drive in Texas, which continued annually through 2019. Throughout the year, GH&H collects period products and packaged children's and women's underwear through partnerships with businesses, organizations, schools, and community members as part of its NO MENSTRUATOR WITHOUT PERIOD PRODUCTS Movement. To date, the organization has partnered with over 200 corporations, nonprofits, churches, and schools to advance its mission. This movement serves domestic violence survivors, natural disaster victims, the homeless community, schools, and women's and girls organizations-providing essential care locally, nationally, and globally. GH&H has also made a global impact in the fight to end period poverty, shipping feminine products to 19 countries and counting. Since 2017, GH&H has supported over 350 girls in Limuru, Kenya, providing period products and girls' underwear. In 2024 alone, the organization received 130,486 period products and 33,186 hygiene and toiletry items, and distributed 164,471 period products along with 22,667 hygiene and toiletry items. To date, Giving Hope and Help has positively impacted more than 55,000 women and girls across the globe-empowering lives, restoring dignity, and ending period poverty.Expenses $229,846

The event was a major success, distributing approximately 3,000 backpacks with school supplies and online hotspot access. Each patient receives a LOVE Bag filled with thoughtful items such as a gift card, hand sanitizer, notepad, pen, tissues, word search book, blanket, small gifts, and an inspirational greeting card. Since its inception, over 750 cancer patients have been inspired and encouraged through this initiative. Giving Hope and Help partners with hospitals across the Kansas City metropolitan area in both Kansas and Missouri to deliver these special gifts of comfort and hope.
