Program accomplishments

  • Digital Bridges Forsyth DBF is a collaborative initiative established in 2020 to promote digital equity across Winston-Salem and Forsyth County. Comprised of community members and representatives from public, private, and nonprofit sectors, DBF works to make broadband internet accessible, affordable, and relevant for all residents. WinstonNet serves as the lead agency of DBF, coordinating community-wide efforts to close the digital divide and ensure equitable technology access for all residents. WinstonNet also partners with local institutions to provide digital literacy training and employment-readiness programs. Services have included training for unemployed, underemployed, and low-income individuals, access to low-cost refurbished laptops, and support in obtaining affordable internet service. Special efforts also focus on supporting immigrants and refugees new to the area.
