Mission

AMOA performs numerous functions on behalf of and for its members including government and related industry representation, monitoring industry and federal news and reporting on these activities, and aviation safety and standardization.

990 for the year ended December 31, 2025

Program accomplishments

  • The Air Medical Operators Association participates in and comments on various legislative and rulemaking initiatives: these initiatives enhance safety in aviation and provide support for the overall mission of transporting patients by air. AMOA works with the Federal Aviation Administration, the Department of Transportation, the National Transportation Safety Board, and the Aviation Subcommittees in both chambers of the United States Congress. AMOA promotes safety initiatives and ensures that rulemaking or legislative activities do not adversely affect the safe operation of its member operators.
  • AMOA employees or member representatives serve on committees and work in coordination with the US Helicopter Safety Team, Helicopter Association International and numerous government committees and task groups to advance safety of air medical transportation. AMOA monitors government and industry communications, meetings and hearings regarding air medical transport. AMOA provides comment and feedback on behalf of its members to agencies, associations, and media outlets on AMOA positions. AMOA hosts and administers a website to promote safety.
    Expenses $186,833
  • AMOA established a Safety Committee to provide a forum for member representatives to collaborate on best safety practices for the industry. This collaboration leads to the adoption of new and improved safety practices such as safety management systems, risk assessment and management, and enhanced operations control. The Safety Committee promotes safety initiatives and collaboration throughout the helicopter community through leadership roles in safety initiatives within the larger rotorcraft industry.
