Mission

A zero-waste, collectively-run consensus- based economic experiment in solidarity with local grassroots social justice organizations.

990 for the year ended December 31, 2024

Program accomplishments

  • Treasure City organized and hosted the Really Really Free Market eleven times in 2024. During these events, we gave away free clothes and other items to approximately 50 to 100 community members per event. After each Really Really Free Market, Treasure City recycles approximately two pallets of leftover clothing with our recycling partner, Josco, to keep those items out of the landfill and work toward a zero-waste economy. In addition we have a community program in which unsheltered members of the community are able to choose one free outfit per day. We also partner with Casa Marianella to provide gift vouchers to their residents as a part of their case management and housing assistance programs. Treasure City organized several shopping nights in 2024 as fundraisers for other nonprofits such as RedSalmon Arts, ADAPT of Texas, Austin Tan Cerca de la Frontera, and Bikes Across Borders.
