Program accomplishments

  • #28 Community Service - The Croghan Free Library has a collection of over 13000 items to loan to patrons. There is public access to computers, a copier printer and fax machine. The library is handicap accessible and is open Monday, Wednesday, and Friday 10 am to 6 pm. There are many programs for adults and children as well as books, magazines, puzzles, games and story hours. The mission of the library is to provide current materials and programs while keeping with latest technology. Resources are available for job research and ancestry information. The library Facebook page keeps patrons aware of latest library activities.
    Expenses $4,606
  • #29 Community Programs The Croghan Library has many programs available for adults and children. A monthly book club, gardening information, knit and crochet class, a Lego club, story hours, and a variety of crafts to make. Park and zoo passes are available at a reduced cost. A story walk is held at the Village recreation park during the summer months. Caregivers have a monthly meeting in the library and weekly story hours are held for children. Art exhibits are there also, and classes from local schools come to check out what's new.
    Expenses $1,173
  • #30 Summer Story Hours - There were over fifty children at last year's story hour. The theme was Color My World. Artist Claude Monel showed several ways to draw and paint, and showed examples of 3D art. Stories are read, a craft is made, and everyone enjoys a healthy snack. The children select books to take home and read also. Sometimes games are played. The summers program lasts six weeks and, on the last day, a party is held with ice cream and other good food. The children get to meet many new friends.
    Expenses $966
