Mission
THE MISSION OF THIS ORGANIZATION IS TO EDUCATE THE PUBLIC ABOUT THE HISTORY AND LEGACY OF THE SECRETARY OF THE AIR FORCE OFFICE OF SPECIAL PROJECTS (SAFSP) AND ERECT PERMANENT MONUMENTS TO THE ACCOMPLISHMENTS OF THIS ORGANIZATION.
Program accomplishments
- OFFICERS AND VOLUNTEERS FROM THE SAFSP HERITAGE FUND DEVELOPED THE PRELIMINARY DESIGNS FOR THREE GRANITE MONUMENTS TO BE INSTALLED AT THE NATIONAL MUSEUM OF THE UNITED STATES AIR FORCE IN DAYTON, OHIO. THESE PRELIMINARY DESIGNS WERE THEN COORDINATED WITH A SELECTED VENDOR FOR THE MONUMENTS, AS WELL AS WITH THE GOVERNING STAFF OF THE MUSEUM AND OTHER APPROPRIATE GOVERNMENT AGENCIES. AN ORDER WAS PLACED FOR THE MONUMENTS AND AN INITIAL DEPOSIT WAS PROVIDER TO THE MONUMENT PROVIDER. THE REMAINING PAYMENTS ARE TO BE MADE INCREMENTALLY UNTIL THE FINAL INSTALLATION AT THE MUSEUM IN YEAR 2025.0
