Mission
THE ORGANIZATION ASSISTS HIGH SCHOOLS IN DEVELOPING AND CONDUCTING STUDENT-CENTERED CAREER DAY EVENTS AND PROVIDES RESOURCES TO INSPIRE STUDENTS TO FIND THEIR PASSION, PURSUE FURTHER EDUCATION, AND SET A DIRECTION FOR THEIR CAREER PATH.
Program accomplishments
- THE ORGANIZATION COORDINATED THREE CAREER DAY EVENTS FOR THE CENTINELA VALLEY UNION HIGH SCHOOL DISTRICT. THE FIRST EVENT WAS HELD ON FEBRUARY 20, 2025, AT HAWTHORNE HIGH SCHOOL. THE SECOND EVENT WAS HELD ON MARCH 13, 2025, AT LEUZINGER HIGH SCHOOL, AND THE THIRD EVENT WAS HELD ON APRIL 16, 2025, AT LAWNDALE HIGH SCHOOL. THE ACTIVITIES INCLUDED COORDINATING THE OVERALL EVENTS, ASSISTING IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE STUDENT CAREER INTEREST SURVEY, BUILDING THE MASTER SCHEDULE FOR THE STUDENTS, RECRUITING INDUSTRY PROFESSIONALS, SCHEDULING THE INDUSTRY PROFESSIONALS, DESIGNING AND PRINTING THE CAREER EVENT PROGRAMS FOR THE SPEAKERS AND GUESTS, PRINTING AND PROVIDING FAQs, SUGGESTED SPEAKER TOPICS, AND CHECK-IN INSTRUCTIONS FOR DISTRIBUTION TO BREAKOUT SPEAKERS, COORDINATING THE REGISTRATION PROCESS FOR THE BREAKOUT SPEAKERS AND GUEST ON THE DAY OF THE EVENT, PRODUCING A HIGHLIGHT VIDEO OF THE EVENT FOR EACH SCHOOL, AND A SEPARATE HIGHLIGHT VIDEO OF ALL THE EVENTS FOR THE SCHOOL DISTRICT. NHSCDN NEEDED TO HIRE 3RD PARTY VENDORS TO PRODUCE THE HIGHLIGHT VIDEOS AND BUILD THE STUDENT MASTER SCHEDULES. NHSCDN STARTED WORKING WITH EACH SCHOOL IN AUGUST 2024, CULMINATING WITH THE EVENT DAY. THE ENTIRE STUDENT BODY PARTICIPATED AT EACH SCHOOL. 1,635 STUDENTS PARTICIPATED AT HAWTHORNE HIGH SCHOOL, 1,948 STUDENTS PARTICIPATED AT LEUZINGER HIGH SCHOOL, AND 1,381 STUDENTS PARTICIPATED AT LAWNDALE HIGH SCHOOL.Expenses $13,351 · revenue $49,640
