Program accomplishments

  • The Aunt Betty Fund launched a scholarship program in 2025 for students in their final year pursuing their college degrees. The first pilot initiated in July 2025 for students pursuing BA or MA degrees in education at the University of District of Columbia provided funding for three scholarships totaling 14,000 to cover unmet financial need. These awards were made after receiving applications through our online platform and conducting in-person interviews. The second pilot open to STEM students at New Jersey Institute of Technology was supported in part by a new corporate partner. This pilot included funding for three scholarships totaling 24,000. We received 95 applications from NJIT students in December 2025. The NJIT scholarship awards were not funded by The Aunt Betty Fund until after completion of finalist interviews in January 2026.
    grants $14,000
  • We designed and managed a custom online scholarship application program with portal and dashboard in consultation with academic officials at the University of District of Columbia and New Jersey Institute of Technology to support Aunt Betty Fund scholarships at their institutions.
