Heart Attack Ethiopia Inc. ("HAE") is a nonprofit organization founded by two Ethiopian-American physicians that are dedicated to combating the alarming increase in the premature death rates resulting from heart attacks and strokes in Ethiopia and other African countries. With a mission to save lives and improve cardiovascular health, we are committed to making a lasting impact on the communities we serve. These interventions include essential procedures such as Percutaneous Coronary Interventions (PCIs), Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting (CABG), Permanent Pacemaker (PPM) implantations, and Cardiac Ablations, all aimed at improving the health and quality of life for those in need. In August 2024, Heart Attack Ethiopia Inc., together with the Children's Heart Fund of Ethiopia (CHFE), St Paul's Millennium Medical College / St Peter's Specialized Hospital, and Tikur Anbesa Specialized Hospital (TASH), completed its second lifesaving mission. The team carried out 90 advanced cardiovascular procedures, including open-heart surgeries, at a total cost of $1.5 million, a figure that reflects generous in-kind donations of medical supplies.
