OUR NAME HAS CHANGED TO THE FRIENDS AND FOUNDATION OF THE CORVALLIS-BENTON COUNTY PUBLIC LIBRARY AND OUR MISSION STATEMENT HAS ALSO CHANGED. IT IS:TO ENRICH THE LIVES OF THE PEOPLE IN BENTON COUNTY BY FOSTERING A VIBRANT, ACCESSIBLE AND INCLUSIVE CORVALLIS-BENTON COUNTY PUBLIC LIBRARY SYSTEM THROUGH ADVOCACY, VOLUNTEERISM AND PHILANTHROPIC SUPPORT. WE ENVISION A THRIVING AND INCLUSIVE COMMUNITY WHERE THE CORVALLIS-BENTON COUNTY PUBLIC LIBRARY IS A CORNERSTONE OF LIFELONG LEARNING, INSPIRATION AND CONNECTION FOR RESIDENTS.
Program accomplishments
- THE FRIENDS & FOUNDATION PROVIDES FUNDING TO MAKE IT POSSIBLE FOR THE MAIN LIBRARY AND ALL BRANCH LIBRARIES TO BETTER MEET THE NEEDS OF LIBRARY PATRONS. FUNDING ACTIVITIES CONDUCTED IN 2024-25 INCLUDED THE FOLLOWING.- TRANSFERRED 27,730 IN DONOR DESIGNATED FUNDS COLLECTED IN PRIOR FISCAL YEARS TO THE CORVALLIS-BENTON COUNTY PUBLIC LIBRARY FOR PURCHASE OF MATERIALS FOR THE COLLECTION, INCLUDING LARGE PRINT MATERIALS.- TRANSFERRED $416 IN DONOR DESIGNATED FUNDS COLLECTED IN PRIOR FISCAL YEAR TO THE CORVALLIS-BENTON COUNTY PUBLIC LIBRARY FOR THE READ DOG PROGRAM AND PAID $16,189 TO VENDORS AT THE LIBRARY'S REQUEST IN SUPPORT OF LIBRARY PROGRAMMING. THESE EXPENDITURES INCLUDED PAYMENTS TO PROGRAM PRESENTERS, A PROJECT TO IMPROVE SIGNAGE FOR WAYFINDING IN BULDINGS, EQUIPMENT MAINTENANCE, AND THE PURCHASE OF SMALL EQUIPMENT AND SUPPLIES IN SUPPORT OF LIBRARY PROGAMMING.- TRANSFERRED $13,500 IN DONOR DESIGNATED FUNDS COLLECTED IN PRIOR FISCAL YEARS TO ALSEA COMMUNITY EFFORT FOR SUPPORT OF OPERATIONS AT THE ALSEA COMMUNITY LIBRARY.- PAID VENDORS AT THE REQUEST OF THE BENTON-COUNTY PUBLIC LIBARARY FOR STAFF ATTENDANCE AT THE OREGON LIBRARY ASSOCIATION CONFERENCE, THE AMERICAN LIBRARY ASSOCIATION CONFERENCES, AND TRAINING SESSIONS FOR THE KOHA INTEGRATED LIBRARY SYSTEM.- PAID VENDORS AT THE REQUEST OF THE SOUTH BENTON COUNTY ENHANCEMENT ASSOCIATION TO SUPPORT THE MONROE COMMUNITY LIBRARY.Expenses $70,723 · grants $70,678
