Mission
Butterfly Noir Inc. is a non-profit arts organization that strives to close the opportunity gap for emerging artists, whose talent is underrepresented in all aspects of the tv, film, and media industry. Program accomplishments
- Program Service Accomplishments- Community Arts Workshops: Butterfly Noir Inc. conducted four 6-12 week community arts workshops throughout the year, reaching over 200 participants from underserved communities. These workshops are central to our mission of eradicating the barriers that historically underrepresented artists face due to systemic racism. Acting: Getting Out of Your Head (Virtual): This workshop taught participants techniques to overcome mental barriers and fully embody their roles, fostering an authentic acting experience. Infusing Writing into Activism (Virtual): Participants explored various screenplay and teleplay genres, focusing on issues impacting their communities. Out in the Field: Cinematography (Hybrid): New York City-based cinematographers were invited to learn hands-on techniques for capturing compelling footage, using camera movements and angles to convey emotions and set the tone of a film. This workshop was designed to enhance the technical skills necessary for emerging filmmakers to tell powerful stories. Digital Marketing workshop (virtual): This workshop covered the basics of digital marketing for content creators. Through these programs and workshops, Butterfly Noir Inc. advanced its mission to support the next generation of artists by providing them with the knowledge, skills, and opportunities needed to succeed in an industry often marked by systemic inequalities.Expenses $21,316
