Mission

One Dojo is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that seeks to advance the accessibility of martial arts, dance, and other forms of physical education and their related physical and mental health benefits for families of all socioeconomic statuses; to promote community wellness by providing these types of physical education to underserved populations, such as students with learning disabilities, students with special needs, homeschooled students, and women; and to sustain a community-based curriculum focused on family self-efficacy and student academic achievement development.

990-EZ for the year ended December 31, 2025

Program accomplishments

  • One Dojo provided comprehensive, year-round programming in martial arts, dance, gymnastics, and youth development for approximately 500 students and their families during the 2025 tax year. The organization expanded its offerings to include Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, wrestling, mixed martial arts (MMA), gymnastics, primitive reflex integration, intermediate and advanced jiu jitsu training, and fourteen levels and types of dance classes, allowing participants to engage in progressive, skill-based instruction across multiple disciplines. Programming was delivered through regularly scheduled weekly classes, seasonal camps, and specialized workshops designed to promote physical fitness, discipline, confidence, and social-emotional development. One Dojo maintained a strong commitment to accessibility and inclusion by intentionally serving populations that are often underrepresented in traditional athletic and performance environments, including neurodivergent students, young children, and women. The organization offered inclusive pathways such as women's and mothers' jiu jitsu classes, moms dance programming, and developmentally appropriate instruction for early childhood participants, ensuring that individuals across age groups, abilities, and life stages could meaningfully participate. In addition, One Dojo provided financial assistance to families in need, supporting over 60 families through reduced tuition and assistance programs and awarding more than 30 scholarships during the year. These efforts ensured that students from diverse socioeconomic backgrounds were able to access programming and benefit from consistent instruction and community engagement. The organization also provided structured performance and competition opportunities, including its fourth annual Nutcracker production featuring the Dojo Dancers company, which allowed students to demonstrate technical skill, artistic development, and teamwork in a formal setting. Athletes participated in regional and national competitions and achieved significant success, including earning first place team recognition at the Battleground Jiu Jitsu Championship at the state level and receiving top team honors at nationally recognized events such as NAGA, Jiu Jitsu World League, Newbreed, and Grappling Industries. Across all programs, One Dojo emphasized a supportive, structured environment that fostered both physical development and essential life skills, including perseverance, self-regulation, leadership, and teamwork. Advanced students were also provided leadership opportunities to assist in instruction and mentorship roles, reinforcing community values and peer support. Through these integrated programs and initiatives, One Dojo advanced its mission to provide accessible, high-quality physical education and youth development opportunities, contributing to the health, confidence, and overall well-being of the individuals and families it serves.
