Mission

Helping veterans one paw at a time

990-EZ for the year ended December 31, 2025

Program accomplishments

  • Operation K9 Beethoven (OK9B) placed 8 trained service days with veterans in 2025 at no cost to veterans. Each veteran also received a comprehensive starter kit, which includes essential items such as kennel, bed, blanket, leash, collar, bowls, a bag of dog food, treats, toys, and a service vest complete with patches. OK9B added 6 more Therapy Dog Teams in 2025. OK9B Therapy Dog Team visited 47 institutions in 2025 (i.e. Veterans homes, special needs, and regular schools, Scouts of America meetings, Nursing Homes/Rehab Centers. These visits aim to bring comfort, companionship, and emotional support to veterans and others in need, fostering a sense of connection and community. Through this outreach, Operation K9 Beethoven strive to make a positive impact on mental health and well-being in various settings, offering the healing presence of our therapy dogs to those who could benefit from it most. OK9B increased public awareness of service and therapy dogs. OK9B created a "teaching" program called Service Animals and Us. OK9B broke it down into age brackets K-2, 3-5, 6-8 and made each teaching booklet age appropriate. The lessons are as follows: Teaching the kids about Service Dogs and Therapy Dogs; What is their purpose and how they help individuals and groups; How to approach a dog; and How to take care of animals. Every event, podcast, radio spot, etc. is a teaching moment to teach people about OK9B mission, how important our veterans are, their sacrifice to our country. And another teaching moment is to bring awareness to people about how many rescue dogs there are and how the rescues and shelters are overrun and need help. OK9B is working with an author to write a book about "Duffy the Deaf Therapy Dog". Another teaching moment that speaks to disabilities and inclusion. And teaching that just because he is disabled, he is remarkable, he understands sign language, etc.
