Mission

Provide highly skilled assistance dogs to adults and children with disabilities, provide education and support for working assistance dogs teams, and be a resource in the community.

990-EZ for the year ended December 31, 2025

Program accomplishments

  • Powers Paws trains and matches assistance dogs for public facility purposes and disabled children/adults with Type 1 diabetes, mobility challenges, and post-traumatic stress disorder. Our pledge is to teach each recipient to master specialized training concepts so that the support of power paws-trained dogs can enhance their quality of life. Through increased engagement, each canine helps clients increase their engagement in social activities. A Power Paws dog provides emotional support as clients build their independent abilities to support their health challenges. Through special partnerships with corporations and community volunteers, dogs are fostered through assistance dog placement programs. Power Paws received certification of its volunteer program in 2020 by the Arizona Governor's Commission on Service and Volunteerism. Certification by the Governor's Office gives Power Paws visibility at a national level.
