Mission
PROVIDING HUMAN SERVICES, FOOD, ACCESSIBLE EDUCATION, COMMUNITY CULTURAL EVENTS, HEALTHCARE, RESOURCES, AND DAILY ESSENTIALS TO LOW-INCOME FAMILIES.
Program accomplishments
- IN 2024, CELEBRATION NATION ADVANCED ITS MISSION TO UPLIFT INDIGENOUS LATINO AND FARMWORKER FAMILIES BY EXPANDING ACCESS TO FOOD, EDUCATION, ESSENTIAL RESOURCES, AND COMMUNITY SUPPORT.THROUGHOUT THE YEAR, ONE OF OUR CENTRAL PRIORITIES WAS STRENGTHENING OUR FARMWORKER FOOD SECURITY PROGRAM. WE SIGNIFICANTLY EXPANDED OUR FOOD BANK OPERATIONS, DISTRIBUTING CONSISTENT, NUTRITIOUS GROCERIES TO FAMILIES EXPERIENCING FOOD INSECURITY. THROUGH OUR FOOD-RECOVERY EFFORTS, WE DIVERTED EDIBLE FOOD FROM REACHING LANDFILLS AND REDIRECTED IT TO HOUSEHOLDS IN NEED, PROMOTING BOTH ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY AND COMMUNITY NOURISHMENT. IN 2024, CELEBRATION NATION SECURED AND DISTRIBUTED OVER $1,000,000 IN IN-KIND (CONTINUED ON SCHEDULE O) DONATED FOOD FROM PARTNER FOOD BANKS, UNDERSCORING OUR CONTINUED COMMITMENT TO ENDING HUNGER.BEYOND FOOD ACCESS, WE INVESTED IN COMMUNITY SUPPORT SERVICES AND CULTURAL PROGRAMMING DESIGNED TO PROVIDE FAMILIES WITH STABILITY, CONNECTION, AND DIGNITY. OUR FAMILY-CENTERED EVENTS OFFERED SAFE SPACES FOR CELEBRATION, HEALING, AND MUTUAL SUPPORT, ESPECIALLY FOR FAMILIES NAVIGATING HARDSHIP, ISOLATION, AND FEAR.RECOGNIZING THE IMPORTANCE OF SUSTAINABILITY AND ENVIRONMENTAL RESPONSIBILITY, WE CONTINUED ORGANIZING CLOTHING DRIVES THAT SUPPLIED FARMWORKER FAMILIES WITH GENTLY USED CLOTHING WHILE REDUCING TEXTILE WASTE AND PROMOTING A MORE SUSTAINABLE COMMUNITY ECOSYSTEM.EDUCATION REMAINED A CORE PILLAR OF OUR WORK. IN 2024, WE DISTRIBUTED THOUSANDS OF BACKPACKS AND ESSENTIAL SCHOOL SUPPLIES TO FARMWORKER CHILDREN, ENSURING THEY HAD THE TOOLS NEEDED TO SUCCEED IN THE CLASSROOM. WE ALSO CONTINUED DEVELOPMENT OF OUR VIRTUAL LEARNING INITIATIVE, A FORTHCOMING ONLINE RESOURCE DESIGNED TO PROVIDE ACCESSIBLE EDUCATIONAL SUPPORT FOR FAMILIES WHO FACE BARRIERS TO GATHERING THESE RESOURCES IN PERSON.TO FURTHER SUPPORT THE HEALTH AND WELL-BEING OF FARMWORKER HOUSEHOLDS, CELEBRATION NATION PROVIDED YEAR-ROUND DISTRIBUTIONS OF PROTECTIVE GEAR, DIAPERS, BABY-CARE ESSENTIALS, MENSTRUAL PRODUCTS, AND OTHER CRITICAL SUPPLIES THAT FAMILIES OFTEN STRUGGLE TO ACCESS. THESE EFFORTS HELP REDUCE DAILY BURDENS SO FAMILIES CAN FOCUS ON SAFETY, STABILITY, AND LONG-TERM WELL-BEING.OUR ANNUAL HOLIDAY TOY DRIVE ONCE AGAIN BROUGHT JOY TO THOUSANDS OF CHILDREN OF FARMWORKERS ACROSS THE STATE. BEYOND GIFT-GIVING, THIS INITIATIVE STRENGTHENS COMMUNITY BONDS AND OFFERS FAMILIES MOMENTS OF CELEBRATION DURING A SEASON THAT CAN OTHERWISE BE FINANCIALLY AND EMOTIONALLY DIFFICULT.THROUGH ALL OF THESE EFFORTS, CELEBRATION NATION REMAINS COMMITTED TO SERVING FARMWORKER AND INDIGENOUS LATINO FAMILIES WITH DIGNITY, COMPASSION, AND RESPECT. OUR WORK IN 2024 REFLECTS OUR ONGOING DEDICATION TO BUILDING A FUTURE WHERE EVERY FAMILY HAS RELIABLE ACCESS TO FOOD, ESSENTIAL RESOURCES, EDUCATIONAL PATHWAYS, AND A SUPPORTIVE COMMUNITY IN WHICH THEY CAN THRIVE.IN 2024, CELEBRATION NATION CONTINUED OPERATING AND EXPANDING OUR FARMWORKER HEALTH ACCESS CLINIC, WHICH WAS ESTABLISHED TO ADDRESS THE LONG-STANDING BARRIERS FARMWORKERS FACE IN ACCESSING AFFORDABLE, CULTURALLY RESPONSIVE MEDICAL CARE. THROUGH THIS CLINIC, WE PROVIDED FREE HEALTH SERVICES, INCLUDING PREVENTATIVE SCREENINGS, BASIC MEDICAL EVALUATIONS, AND REFERRALS, WHILE OFFERING SUPPORT IN SPANISH AND INDIGENOUS LANGUAGES TO ENSURE FAMILIES RECEIVED CARE IN A SAFE AND TRUSTED ENVIRONMENT. WE ALSO DISTRIBUTED ESSENTIAL HEALTH ITEMS SUCH AS PPE, HYGIENE PRODUCTS, AND INFANT-CARE SUPPLIES, FURTHER EASING THE DAILY BURDENS ON FARMWORKER HOUSEHOLDS. THIS ONGOING INITIATIVE STRENGTHENS OUR HOLISTIC APPROACH TO COMMUNITY WELL-BEING BY ENSURING THAT THE WORKERS WHO SUSTAIN OUR FOOD SYSTEM HAVE RELIABLE ACCESS TO THE HEALTHCARE THEY DESERVE.Expenses $1,929,603 · grants $1,455,844
