Mission

Atlas Youth Outreach exists to create a safe place for adolescents, ages 11-18, to participate in therapeutic, psychoeducational support groups and social engagement programs that support social and emotional growth and provide new opportunities for the youth to gain knowledge for successful futures

990-EZ for the year ended December 31, 2025

Program accomplishments

  • The Navigate program provides free psychoeducational mental health support groups to teens in Jefferson County Missouri both in local schools and at our home office that encourage social and emotional growth. Navigate provides teens education and resources so they may create their own path to a successful future. Atlas had a successful year with being able to conduct 71 different groups for free and serve 308 teens through the Navigate Program. Many of those teens returned for more than one group. Of the 71 mental health support groups two groups were ongoing monthly groups, Adolescent Stress for teens to find monthly support from peers for stressors in their lives, and LGBTQIA+ Community Building for teens who identify in this community to find mental health support for their unique struggles. The remaining groups were 6 or 8 weeks in length and included 4 mental health summer programs with an emphasis on creating a happy mindset, 7 anxiety management groups, 2 healthy relationships groups, 6 peer relationships, 5 depression and self esteem, 4 conflict resolution, 4 Healthy Minds, 1 understanding anger, 4 healing and loss for grief, 2 chill skills (coping strategies), 1 group on neurodivergency, 2 groups on the effects of social media, 7 stress less groups, 3 confidence building, 3 social skills, 2 Mental Health 101, 1 group to support youth in foster care, and 1 social anxiety group. Atlas also provided two ongoing groups with the DeSoto school district at the Innovative Learning Center and the DeSoto Annex, both are alternative school programs within the district. Of our 308 teens 58% identified as female, 39% identified as male and 3% identified as nonbinary. 83% identify as white, 9% identify as multiracial, 3% identify as Hispanic, 1% identified as asian, 1% identified as as American Indian/Pacific Islander, 1% identified as other, and 1% preferred not to say. 39% of our teens live in homes that make under $50,000 a year and 14% live in homes with someone other than their biological parents. These environmental factors can lead to an increase in mental health concerns and can also be a barrier to accessing mental health services. Atlas provided 33 groups in the Atlas office and 33 groups in local school districts including the Fox C6 District, Northwest R1, DeSoto 73, Dunklin R-5, Hillsboro R-3, and New Day Treatment Program. We partnered with Jefferson County Community Partners to provide 5 groups to youth in foster care. We have had pleasing results from our surveys and we saw positive results for all of our groups.
    Expenses $82,200
  • The Connect Program provide teenagers the opportunity to explore social interactions in safe, drug and alcohol free spaces so they can make new friends, develop leadership skills, have fun and build community with each other. This is accomplished through a Teen Advisory Board which allows teens the opportunity to assist Atlas Youth leadership in creating and planning fun, safe, drug and alcohol free events for teenagers; volunteer at fundraising events; be a liaison between Atlas and other teens; and help us understand the needs of teenagers in Jefferson County. The Connect Program also hosts community events and teen nights which are an opportunity for teens to gather, socialize and have fun in a safe, drug and alcohol free, environment. It's a chance for them to just be a kid while attending events such as a movie night, game night, skate night, pop-up special interest clubs, art night or a teens only Trunk or Treat. During 2025, 249 teens attended a total of 7 events.
    Expenses $11,948
