Mission
The purposes of this Corporation are charitable and educational. Our goals are to enhance the health and welfare of the public by encouraging, organizing, and promoting engagement in the sport of pickleball in Indianapolis and surrounding counties. The mission is to encourage participation in local pickleball events and competitions to reduce the burdens of local municipalities, and to partner with other qualified charities for fund raising efforts. This includes organizing and managing local, regional, national, and international tournaments. It also includes providing financial assistance to local municipalities for planning, construction, and maintenance of pickleball courts and related infrastructures.
Program accomplishments
- Running Pickleball Tournaments and Leagues. We introduce and educate the public to organized, competitive pickleball play. Many of our participants travel from other states, and we have had several international entries. We have already hosted 6 tournaments with participation rates averages approximately 200 players per event. Participation rates have usually been limited due to court capacity.Expenses $7,995
- Drills -Provide educational and practice opportunities for beginning and intermediate players to improve their skill level and encourage them to continue with the game
- Beginner Clinics - We introduce the sport to people with little to no experience. We educate participants on the rules, court positioning, and introductory strokes
- Philanthropic -We host tournaments in partnership with other organizations for the benefit of philanthropic causes. For example, in Sept. 2023, we co-sponsored a pickleball tournament with Cage Foundation for the benefit of the Hamilton County (Indiana) Humane society. We also contributed towards the installation of lights and court maintenance at a local park and donate supplies to other local pickleball organizations. We also made a $2,500 contribution to Empowered Pathways for the development of pickleball in lower income communities.Expenses $11,500 · grants $29,386
