Mission

Families Flourish offers a 3-year program that transforms the lives of low-wage working families and their children by providing a comprehensive path to economic mobility and wellness. This is accomplished through life coaching, rent support and monthly required programs that promote housing and economic stability, career advancement, and generational change for their children.

990 for the year ended December 31, 2025

Program accomplishments

  • Families Flourish creates a future where our families are empowered to unleash their talents and pursue their goals and aspirations. By addressing barriers and fostering self-confidence, families will be equipped to navigate their lives effectively using program tools designed for lifelong success. Since welcoming our first 10 pilot families in 2018, Families Flourish has grown to serve 120 families-representing 331 people directly, including 123 adults and 208 children-through December 2025, reflecting both strong demand and proven impact. Most participants increased their income while in the program and for many who did not, they were engaged in education and training programs to put themselves on a path to economic stability. These outcomes reflect sustained improvements in financial stability, workforce advancement, and overall family well-being. We remain deeply committed to measuring and strengthening outcomes, with independent evaluation by a team from The Ohio State University's School of City and Regional Planning consistently demonstrating meaningful progress for participating families. Full evaluations are made publicly available on our website annually. Independent analysis by Scioto Analysis shows that programs like Families Flourish can generate up to $7 in social and economic value for every $1 invested, driven by higher lifetime earnings and reduced public costs. In fact, scaling this model to serve 1,000 families in Ohio could produce approximately $320 million in long-term economic value, making Families Flourish a powerful investment in stronger families and communities. In response to the program's strong outcomes and growing interest from communities across the state, Families Flourish has begun expanding through an affiliate model, with the first partner program-Families Flourish Miami Valley-launching in mid-2025 to bring this proven approach to additional families in Ohio. Conversations are welcome with communities and partners interested in exploring future Families Flourish affiliate programs.
    Expenses $1,027,937 · revenue $2,350,771
  • The organization also engages in outreach activities to educate the region and beyond about affordable housing, the need for people to have access to higher resourced neighborhoods, and the need to connect programs and services to housing. The organization hosts events, sponsors programs and participates in events and programs held by others. Activities include speaking to community organizations, submitting articles for publication, and being in the news or media.
    Expenses $37,761
