Mission

BHA is dedicated to improving health outcomes for all people. We are focused on communities that face the greatest concerns. Our mission is to eliminate preventable cardiovascular health disparities through advocacy, education, free preventative heart health screenings, early detection and connections to care.

990 for the year ended December 31, 2025

Program accomplishments

  • In 2025, Black Heart Association significantly expanded its Vehicle for Change program, delivering free cardiovascular screenings, preventive health education, navigation, referrals and follow-up support through 153 events across the United States. BHA directly screened 5,209 youth and adults,a 24% increase. The organization also increased its number of community activations by 53%, growing from 100 events in 2024 to 153 events in 2025. BHAs impact extended beyond those directly screened. Through its community-education model, BHA educated approximately two additional people for every person screened. This resulted in an estimated 10,418 additional people receiving heart-health education and a combined screening and education reach of approximately 15,627 people during 2025. BHA brought prevention directly to people at worksites, schools, churches, festivals and other trusted community locations. Through every interaction, BHA transformed screening results into understandable, actionable information, helping individuals and families recognize cardiovascular risks earlier and take informed steps toward protecting their health.
