Program accomplishments

  • IN 2025, COLS CONTINUED TO STRENGTHEN ITS ORGANIZATIONAL INFRASTRUCTURE AND ADVANCE ITS MISSION THROUGH STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIPS, PARTICIPANT ENGAGEMENT, AND PROGRAM GROWTH. BUILDING ON THE SUCCESSFUL LEADERSHIP TRANSITION INITIATED IN 2024, THE ORGANIZATION MAINTAINED CONTINUITY ACROSS STAFF AND BOARD LEADERSHIP WHILE CONTINUING TO RETAIN KEY TALENT AND INSTITUTIONAL KNOWLEDGE. THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS AND STAFF REMAINED FOCUSED ON EXPANDING PARTICIPANT ENGAGEMENT WITHIN THE COLS PROGRAM. A CONTINUED EMPHASIS WAS PLACED ON RE- ENGAGING PRIOR PARTICIPANTS TO FURTHER STRENGTHEN THE LONGITUDINAL IMPACT AND INTEGRITY OF THE STUDY. THESE EFFORTS SUPPORTED SUSTAINED PARTICIPANT RETENTION AND ENHANCED THE ORGANIZATION'S ABILITY TO COLLECT MEANINGFUL LONG-TERM DATA. DURING 2025, COLS ALSO EXPANDED ITS EXTERNAL PARTNERSHIPS AND COLLABORATIVE INITIATIVES. MOST NOTABLY, COLS BEGAN A COLLABORATION WITH THE CLINTON FOUNDATION TO EXPLORE OPPORTUNITIES FOR INCREASED COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT, AWARENESS, AND SUPPORT SURROUNDING HEALTHY AGING AND LONGITUDINAL RESEARCH INITIATIVES. IN ADDITION, COLS CONTINUED ITS LONGSTANDING COLLABORATION WITH COLORADO STATE UNIVERSITY'S COLUMBINE HEALTH SYSTEMS CENTER FOR HEALTHY AGING (CHA) AND THE HUMAN PERFORMANCE CLINICAL RESEARCH LABORATORY (HPCRL). THE CHA CONTINUED TO PROVIDE A WELCOMING ENVIRONMENT AND INFRASTRUCTURE FOR PARTICIPANT VISITS, INCLUDING ACCESS TO CLINICAL AND PARTICIPANT PROCESSING FACILITIES. HPCRL STAFF CONTINUED TO SUPPORT THE HOUSING, MONITORING, AND PROCESSING OF BIOLOGICAL SPECIMENS WHILE PROVIDING ADDITIONAL EXPERTISE AND EQUIPMENT AS NEEDED TO SUPPORT ONGOING RESEARCH OPERATIONS. COLS ALSO CONTINUED IMPLEMENTATION AND REFINEMENT OF ITS FUNDRAISING AND DONOR MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS TO BETTER CAPTURE, ORGANIZE, AND TRACK AN EXPANDING PIPELINE OF PROSPECTIVE DONORS AND SUPPORTERS. THESE EFFORTS WERE UNDERTAKEN TO IMPROVE LONG-TERM SUSTAINABILITY AND STRENGTHEN ORGANIZATIONAL CAPACITY FOR FUTURE GROWTH.
