990 for the year ended December 31, 2024

Program accomplishments

  • Mobility Assistance Program ("MAP") The Project expands fair and affordable housing for low-income families by administering a housing mobility program that serves participants in HUD's Voucher Program. MAP provides families with a wide range of services. Services include housing search assistance and counseling to provide clients with information and support to help them escape generational poverty through access to high-quality housing in areas with good schools, community resources, and employment opportunities.
    Expenses $131,455 · grants $14,985
  • Voices For Opportunity The Project promotes education and empowerment through its Voices For Opportunity (VFO) program. The VFO program provides training to low-income families participating in HUD's voucher program. The training is offered to strengthen members' self-advocacy skills and establish a regional network of voucher participants living in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. This program fosters opportunities for the participants to impact programs and policies that affect them and nurtures fellowship and community among people with similar experiences.
    Expenses $71,034
  • Fair Housing Advocacy and Education The Project advocates for fair and affordable housing by contributing to policy discussions at every level of government. The Project engages in administrative advocacy and litigation to further its mission where necessary. The Project's advocacy work also includes educating low-income families about their rights under the Fair Housing Act and related civil rights laws. Education incorporates training and coalition building to address the harms of discrimination, segregation, and neighborhood inequity.
    Expenses $63,039
  • Affordable Housing Expansion and Advocacy - The Project works directly with housing developers and property owners to create and expand the supply of affordable housing through various projects and initiatives. The projects and initiatives are designed to address barriers to affordable housing for families using HUDs rental vouchers to move to areas with good schools, community resources, and employment opportunities.
    Expenses $30,198
