Mission
Texas Ground Water Association was founded to:* Assist, promote, encourage, and support the interests and welfare of the water well industry, particularly within Texas;* Foster, aid, and promote scientific education, standards, research, and techniques to improve methods of well construction and development and advance the science of groundwater hydrology;* Promote cooperation among well contractors and governmental and scientific agencies in properly developing and protecting underground water supplies; * Encourage improvements in drilling and pumping equipment;* Collect, analyze, and disseminate information to the public on the role of the water well industry in the state and national economy; and* Advance the mutual interests of all engaged in the water well industry.
Program accomplishments
- Policy:* Education of well driller and pump installers through legislative tracking and updates.* Access to National Ground Water Association materials and information.* Engagement with state agencies on well driller and pump installer matters.
- Industry:* Networking opportunities and connections with groundwater professionals across the state.* Coordination among well drillers, pump installers, manufacturers, suppliers and ground water scientists.
- Outreach:* Invitations to continuing education classes across Texas.* Opportunities to participate in TGWA's Annual Convention & Trade Show.* Ability to participate in TGWA local chapter meetings and events.* Education of well drillers and pump installers on ground water science and policy.
