Program accomplishments

  • The Capital Black Chamber of Commerce completed its fifteenth year of advocacy working with the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation's Annual Legislative Conference. In 2024 the Chamber's focus was on how our collaborations work to build sustainability in our underrepresented communities specifically through workforce development in areas of transportation, energy and education. Meetings were also held with elected officials representing the State of California as well as representatives from the Department of Commerce and the Department of Labor. The Chamber hosted a reception in Washington DC after the meetings to introduce the fact that the Chamber has now gone statewide and will now be called the Capital Black Chamber of Commerce. The Chamber took its largest delegation yet to Washington D.C. to represent our six county region. The Chamber's introduced its newest program called Elevate which was designed to provide technical assistance and training to local Black Chambers around the state to support their building capacity to provide assistance to their local businesses. The Capital Black Chamber has now graduated two cohorts from that program, one in Northern California consisting of nine local Black Chambers and fifteen Chambers in the Inland Empire.
