THIS IS ACCOMPLISHED THROUGH BOTH LEGISLATIVE & REGULATORY MONITORING, COMMUNICATIONS WITH MEMBERS & PUBLIC AWARENESS PROGRAMS ABOUT FARMING & RURAL LIFE & PROVIDE INFORMATION ABOUT THE AGRICULTURE INDUSTRY. VOLUNTEER BOARD MEMBERS PARTICIPATE IN SPONSORSHIP OF MEET THE CANDIDATE ACTIVITIES & YEARLY POLICY MEETINGS WITH THEIR LEGISLATORS TO EDUCATE THEM ABOUT AG POLICY & HOW THE INDUSTRY IS IMPACTED BY LAWMAKERS.

LEADERS ATTEND DISTRICT STATE & NATIONAL CONFERENCES TO NETWORK WITH FARMERS & OTHER AGRICULTURALISTS TO LEARN ABOUT CURRENT ISSUES FACING AGRICULTURE. A HIGHLY DEVELOPED COMMITTEE STRUCTURE PROVIDES LEADERSHIP OPPORTUNITIES FOR MEMBERS THROUGH MEETINGS, REGULAR COMMUNICATIONS AND AGRICULTURE ACTIVITIES.
- YOUTH LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT THE CARTER COUNTY FARM BUREAU SUPPORTS YOUTH AG ORGANIZATIONS BOTH FINANCIALLY & WITH VOLUNTEER HOURS. THE ORGANIZATION IS A PRIMARY SPONSOR OF THE CARTER COUNTY 4-H ORGANIZATION. BOARD MEMBERS ASSIST WITH A YOUTH AG RETREAT WHERE STUDENTS FROM SEVERAL SCHOOLS GO TO A DIRECTORS FARM AND SEE HOW FARM ANIMALS ARE TAKEN CARE OF AND HOW CROPS ARE GROWN, TAKEN CARE OF, AND HARVESTED. THE CARTER COUNTY FARM BUREAU ALSO GIVES SCHLORSHIPS ANNUALLY TO AG STUDENTS IN THE COUNTY.
