THE ORGANIZATION ACTIVELY COLLECTS, PRESERVES AND ENCOURAGES RESEARCH IN MATERIALS DOCUMENTING THE HISTORY OF SOUTH CAROLINA. THE ORGANIZATION ALSO PROMOTES RESEARCH BY ITS PUBLICATIONS, MEETINGS, AND ANNUAL PROGRAMS.
