Mission
To connect people worldwide with lived experience of Hansens disease and other neglected tropical diseases in order to empower one another uphold human rights and promote inclusion.
Program accomplishments
- IDEA International The International Association for Integration Dignity and Economic Advancement promoted networking self-advocacy and empowerment among individuals worldwide who have experienced Hansens disease and other neglected tropical diseases. In 2025 IDEA conducted virtual Gatherings providing a global platform for dialogue peer support and capacity building. These sessions engaged participants and representatives of peoples organizations from more than 30 countries. The program strengthened community connections supported leadership development and advanced inclusion and human rights for persons with lived experience.
- IDEA International advanced advocacy and global engagement efforts to promote the rights and inclusion of persons affected by Hansens disease and other neglected tropical diseases. In 2025 IDEA collaborated with international partners including United Nations stakeholders and global health organizations to elevate the voices of persons with lived experience. Through participation in global dialogues knowledge-sharing initiatives and partnership-building activities IDEA contributed to increased awareness strengthened representation and supported the integration of lived experience perspectives into policy and practice.
- IDEA International supported community building and network development among individuals and organizations representing persons affected by Hansens disease and other neglected tropical diseases. In 2025 IDEA facilitated ongoing communication collaboration and relationship-building across its global network strengthening connections among advocates support groups and partner organizations. These efforts enhanced peer support encouraged shared learning and contributed to a more connected and inclusive global community.
