Mission
THE NATIONAL BIRTH DEFECTS PREVENTION NETWORK IS A GROUP OF INDIVIDUALS INVOLVED IN BIRTH DEFECTS SURVEILLANCE, RESEARCH, AND PREVENTION. IT WAS CREATED TO ESTABLISH AND MAINTAIN A NATIONAL NETWORK OF STATE AND POPULATION-BASED PROGRAMS FOR BIRTH DEFECTS SURVEILLANCE & RESEARCH.
Program accomplishments
- IN 2025 THE NETWORK CONTINUED WORKING UNDER THE CDC COOPERATIVE AGREEMENT, A 5-YEAR PARTNERSHIP THAT INCLUDES EXECUTION OF THE 2025 NATIONAL CONFERENCE, REVISING AND FINALIZING THE BIRTH DEFECTS SURVEILLANCE GUIDELINES THAT ARE USED THROUGHOUT THE COUNTRY, CONTINUING TO DEVELOP PARTNERSHIPS WITH OTHER LIKE-MINDED ORGANIZATIONS, ESTABLISH ADDITIONAL WORKGROUPS SUPPORTED BY FULLY PAID STAFF, SENT OUT AND COMPLETED THE 2025 DATA CALL TO ALL STATE BIRTH DEFECTS SURVEILLANCE PROGRAMS, AND BEGAN CONVERSATIONS ABOUT A DATA DASHBOARD AND HEALTH AWARENESS MONTH PROMOTIONS.Expenses $448,553 · revenue $554,308
