Mission
The mission of the 21st Century Consort is to present outstanding live performances of important new chamber music to dedicated and engaged audiences in the Washington D.C. region; to curate programs related to the exhibitions and collection of its resident home the Hirshhorn Museum; to engage in educational activities that enrich the public understanding of contemporary music and that encourage its creation by young people; to commission works from emerging and established American composers; and to create a public recorded audio and video archive of every concert.
