THROUGH THE CZECH & SLOVAK LENS, THE NCSML PRESERVES, PRESENTS AND TRANSCENDS UNIQUE STORIES OF HISTORY AND CULTURE THROUGH INNOVATIVE EXPERIENCES AND ACTIVE ENGAGEMENT TO REACH CROSS-CULTURAL AUDIENCES LOCALLY, NATIONALLY AND INTERNATIONALLY. NCSML'S VISION IS TO BE AN INNOVATIVE LEADER FOR LIFELONG LEARNING, COMMUNITY BUILDING AND CULTURAL CONNECTIONS. WE ENCOURAGE SELF-DISCOVERY THROUGH EXTRAORDINARY EXPERIENCES THAT TELL STORIES OF FREEDOM, INDENTITY, FAMILY, AND COMMUNITY(S).
Program accomplishments
- THE NATIONAL CZECH & SLOVAK MUSEUM & LIBRARY (NCSML) OPERATES A MUSEUM AND LIBRARY WHICH REACHES THE COMMUNITY THROUGH EXHIBITS, EDUCATION, MUSICAL CONCERTS, BOOK CLUBS, AND SOON TO BE SPORTING EVENTS. EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMMING TRADITIONALLY FEATURES SCHOOL STUDY TRIPS THAT PROVIDE MULTICULTURAL ADVENTURE, CONNECTING STUDENTS TO THE LARGER, GLOBAL COMMUNITY IN A PERSONAL MANNER ALONG WITH CLASSES, WEBINARS, AND OTHER PROGRAMS TO HELP IN REACHING AND FULFILLING OUR MISSION... THE NCSML PRESENTED OUR PERMANENT EXHIBIT, "FACES OF FREEDOM AND CONTINUES TO HAVE GREAT TURN OUT FROM MEMBERS AND GUESTS WHO ARE IMPACTED BY THIS POWERFUL EXHIBIT. THE MUSEUM DEBUTED MORE THAN FOUR NEW EXHIBITS IN 2024 WHICH INCLUDED "EXHIBIT REVIVAL", "ALPHONSE MUCHA: MASTER OF ART NOUVEAU", "THE NATIONAL COLLECTION: FIFTY YEARS OF NCSML", "MARJ NEJDL: MASTER FOLK ARTIST", AND "CONTEMPORARY TAKES ON FOLK MOTIFS". THE MUSEUM CONTINUES TO ADD VALUE TO THE COMMUNITY AND IS GETTING MORE AND MORE WELL KNOWN NATIONALLY AND INTERNATIONALLY. WE HAVE STAFF MEMBERS WHO ARE STUDYING ABROAD, AND WE ALWAYS HAVE FOREIGN EXCHANGE STUDENTS WHO SERVE AS INTERNS.
