Program accomplishments

  • IN THE 2024-2025 FISCAL YEAR, WITH A NEW EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, WYATT GRAHAM, THE DAVENANT INSTITUTE COMPLETED A TRANSFORMATION IN WHICH WE SOLD DAVENANT HOUSE AND ITS SURROUNDING REAL ESTATE TO FOCUS ON REGIONAL IN-PERSON EVENTS IN MULTIPLE LOCATIONS INSTEAD OF RELYING SO HEAVILY ON ONE SOUTH CAROLINA LOCATION. WE CARRIED OUT OUR FIRST LARGE OPEN TO THE PUBLIC NATIONAL CONFERENCE IN CHARLOTTE, NC IN JUNE. THE DAVENANT PRESS PUBLISHES APPROXIMATELY ONE NEW BOOK EVERY MONTH. OUR ONLINE TEACHING ARM, DAVENANT HALL, CONTINUED IN ITS MISSION TO RE-IMAGINE THE MEDIEVAL UNIVERSITY AND THE EARLY MODERN REPUBLIC OF LETTERS FOR THE DIGITAL AGE. BY HARNESSING THE NEW POWERS OF THE INTERNET TO OFFER EFFECTIVE AND FLEXIBLE ONLINE INSTRUCTION, AND THE OLD PRACTICES OF IN-PERSON FELLOWSHIP AND MENTORSHIP TO SEEK WISDOM TOGETHER IN COMMUNITY, WE ARE BUILDING AN ARMY OF FRIENDS TO TAKE ON THE CHALLENGES OF THE TWENTY-FIRST CENTURY. FINALLY, WE FURTHER DEVELOPED OUR AD FONTES PERIODICAL PUBLISHING USING BOTH THE AD FONTES PRINT PUBLICATION AND THE COMMONWEALTH ONLINE PUBLICATION.
