TO BUILD ON THE RICH AND LONGSTANDING HISTORICAL TIES BETWEEN THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA AND THE PHILIPPINES AND TO BRING THAT UNIQUE RELATIONSHIP TO THE 21ST CENTURY.
Program accomplishments
- TRADE & INVESTMENTS Highlighted key sectors in semiconductors; green energy; and minerals processing at the Manila business forum, in February 2025. Held roundtable discussions on APECO zone and CEZA infrastructure development with PH Secretary Katrina Ponce Enrile; explored investment opportunities in fishing; farming; storage; energy; defense; and tourism. Sponsored business event in Manila in September 2024 where JPMorganChase CEO Jamie Dimon highlighted their PH-based shared services center. Hosted virtual meeting with Trade Specialist who discussed US tariff policy; US-PH trade imbalance; and potential cooperation opportunities. Hosted reception at US Embassy DCM residence in Manila following the report on US investments in the PH.Expenses $100,581
- REGIONAL SECURITY Continued to raise awareness of 2016 UN Arbitral Tribunal ruling in favor of the PH, rejecting Chinas territorial claims on the South China Sea, under UNCLOS. Held roundtable discussions on US-PH defense strategies for a free, open Indo-Pacific region, including Taiwan. Hosted Filipino political scientist, Dr. Renato Cruz de Castro, in discussing archipelagic defense concept. Hosted book talk Unrequited Love with Filipino author Marites Vitug regarding PH president Dutertes China policy - and its implications on PH national security. Panel discussions in February 2025 in Manila provided updates on security situation in the SCS.Expenses $40,766
- COMMUNITY OUTREACH Hosted public forum at PH Embassy where Ambassador Romualdez briefed audience on PH-US trade missions and congressional visits as part of bilateral engagement. Presented US-PH Enduring Friendship book to donors during July 2024 membership campaign. Sponsored event in October 2024 with Congressman Don Beyer in Capitol Hill, who discussed policy differences between presidential candidates and how to advance US- Southeast Asia relations. Hosted 2024 post-election reception at Capitol Hill, with remarks by PH Ambassador and US defense contractors.Expenses $40,331
- HISTORY & EDUCATION Gave a $5000 grant to the ABM Foundation to support 80th-year commemoration of the 1945 Battle of Manila.
