Program accomplishments

  • The Dunn County Historical Society brings together people interested in the history of Dunn County for the purpose of collecting and preserving historical records and material pertaining to the history of Dunn County and to cooperate with others around the state for this purpose. A museum and other various facilities showcase the historical collections. These artifacts and historical records and documents are available for the public to view and to use for research. Approximately 500 people visited these facilities for these purposes or to attend events held at these facilities. An Oral History project records audio histories as told by local residents and also provides transcriptions of these. These are available to the families that provided the information and also to the public for research. A genealogy research group meets at the Museum approximately 9 -10 times per year with a volunteer leader/instructor.
