Mission
The Missouri Recycling Association supports waste reduction and recycling and technical support in partnership with state, regional and national organizations. The Missouri Recycling Association provides a forum for sharing information through workshops, meetings and an annual conference. Members cooperate on a regional level to share experiences and encourage market development for recovered materials.
Program accomplishments
- The Missouri Recycling Association postponed its annual recycling conference until May of 2025 but held an annual membership forum in October in Columbia Mo. The membership forum is another (condensed) education/networking function for the recycling industry in Missouri. Technical sessions were held with speakers presenting on education campaigns, EPA Goals and Priorities, update from the State's 3 SWIFR (EPA) grant recipients, etc. A consultant provided research and findings from their work to update our state solid waste plan (scheduled to be distributed the fall of 2025).Expenses $2,200
- Support ALL local/regional statewide recycling and waste reduction programs and efforts. The Missouri Recycling Association works with private industry; city, county and state governments, schools, colleges and universities, manufacturers, etc. We do this by maintaining websites (3), disseminating bi-weekly newsletters and promoting resource and free webinars. Partnering with the EPA Region 7 office, Missouri Dept. of Natural Resources, Missouri's Twenty Solid Waste Management Districts, public and private businesses and institutions to provide technical support to all Missourians.Expenses $88,584 · grants $86,276
- Membership - Maintained or recruited members who can take advantage of members services like the membership directory, referrals, market information, educational materials and programs, access to 3 websites, discounts to the annual conference and other meetings, etc.Expenses $49,011
