Mission
THE SALZBURG FESTIVAL SOCIETY WAS ESTABLISHED TO SERVE AS A LIAISON BETWEEN THE SALZBURG FESTIVAL AND ITS AMERICAN FRIENDS AND PATRONS. THE BROADER MISSION OF THE SOCIETY IS TO ADVANCE THE GENERAL PUBLIC'S UNDERSTANDING OF CLASSICAL MUSIC AND OPERA.
Program accomplishments
- THE SOCIETY SUPPORTED THE SALZBURG FESTIVAL PROGRAMS. PROKOFIEV'S OPERA DER SPIELER ("THE GAMBLER") WAS PRESENTED AT THE 2024 SALZBURG FESTIVAL, DIRECTED BY AMERICAN PETER SELLARS. THIS PRODUCTION ALSO FEATURED THE AMERICAN TENOR SEAN PANIKKAR AND RISING STAR JOSEPH PARRISH FROM THE FESTIVAL'S YOUNG SINGER'S PROJECT.
