Mission
THE PURPOSES FOR WHICH IT IS FORMED ARE TO PROMOTE INTERESTS OF THE DAIRY INDUSTRY IN MICHIGAN; TO COOPERATE WITH OTHER STATES AND ORGANIZATIONS IN PROMOTING DAIRY PRODUCTS; TO PROMOTE ADEQUATE USE AND CONSUMPTION OF MILK, BUTTER, CHEESE, ICE CREAM AND OTHER DAIRY PRODUCTS; TO CONDUCT OR PROMOTE RESEARCH WORK FOR THE PURPOSES OF DEVELOPING AND DISCOVERING HEALTH, FOOD, DIETETIC AND INDUSTRIAL USES FOR PRODUCTS OF MILK OR ITS DERIVATIVES WHICH WILL PROMOTE CONSUMPTION OF DAIRY PRODUCTS AND TO DO ALL SUCH THINGS AS MAY BE USEFUL, NECESSARY OR CONVENIENT FOR THE ACCOMPLISHMENT OF THE FOREGOING PURPOSES, OR ANY OF THEM, PROVIDED HOWEVER, THAT SAID CORPORATION SHALL NOT BE OPERATED FOR PECUNIARY PROFIT.
Program accomplishments
- PROMOTED DAIRY PRODUCTS BY WORKING WITH PARTNERS TO RAISE AWARENESS OF MILK'S NUTRITIONAL BENEFITS FOR MICHIGANDERS IN NEED. THE ORGANIZATION ALSO PARTNERED WITH FOOD BANKS AND RETAILERS TO EDUCATE CONSUMERS ON THE NEED FOR MILK IN THE FOOD BANKING SYSTEM AND TO INCREASE THEIR CAPACITY FOR MILK DISTRIBUTION. DURING 2025, 37 COOLERS WERE DISTRIBUTED AS PART OF THE FOOD PANTRY GRANTS. IN ADDITION, THERE WERE EXHIBITS AT HEALTH PROFESSIONAL AND SCHOOL CONFERENCES, PROVIDING NUTRITIONAL INFORMATION TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC.
