Mission
To support the goals adopted from time to time of Alameda Community Learning Center, a charter school under the Alameda Unified School District, as an educational school providing enrichment programs related to technology skills, educational activities, learner empowerment and learning to learn skills along with organizing various fundraising events.
Program accomplishments
- Funded various charter school activitiesfor students in 6th through 12 grades. Largest funded initiatives included:Media Arts and Technology Enhancement ($6,400)Modernized the school's media lab by replacing obsolete, 12-year-old hardware with 12 Apple computers and 2 industrial-grade 3-D printers. Provided critical technology access to the entire middle and high schoollearners enrolled in media arts (a core class). Upgrade ensured students can master current industry-standard software in creative design and engineering.Environmental Science / Biology Field Studies ($6,000)Facilitated two immersive 'living laboratory' sailing expeditions on the San Francisco Bay for 123 learners in grades 9 through 11. Students conducted hands-on ecological investigations to analyze human impact on local marine ecosystems. The program funded chartered vessel access, specialized coaching, and transportation, allowing students to apply classroom biological concepts to real-world environmental conservation and watershed management.Civic Engagement and Educational Equity ($5,500)Promoted educational equity by providing financial scholarships and deposits for 11 learners from low-income households to participate in a national civics and government study program in Washington D.C. By removing financial barriers for students qualifying for free/reduced lunch, the organization enabled at-risk 8th-grade learners to engage directly with the governing process and develop the skills necessary to become active, informed participants in civil society.Expenses $58,258 · grants $58,258
