Mission
REPRESENT THE FARMER'S VOICE ON ISSUES RELATED TO AGRICULTURE, EDUCATE THE CONSUMER, AND PROMOTE FARM PRODUCTS, KEEP MEMBERS ABREAST OF POLICIES AND NEW DEVELOPMENTS.
Program accomplishments
- IN ORDER TO BRING AGRICULTURE TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC, WE SPONSOR A DAIRY BIRTHING CENTER AT THE COUNTY 4-H FAIR. PEOPLE CAN LEARN ABOUT AND WATCH THE CALF BIRTHING PROCESS EVERY DAY OF THE FAIR. WE ALSO HAVE SEVERAL OTHER AGRICULTURAL DISPLAYS WITH FUNDAMENTAL AGRICULTURAL INFORMATION A MINI FARM DISPLAY, AND OTHER EDUCATIONAL STATIONS.
- TO HELP THE YOUTH IN OUR COMMUNITY LEARN THE FUNDAMENTS OF AGRICULTURE AND THE MANY BENEFITS FROM IT, WE HOST AG IN THE CLASSROOM. VOLUNTEERS VISIT FOURTH, FIFTH, AND SIXTH GRADE CLASSROOMS EACH WEEK FOR UP TO AN HOUR OF INSTRUCTION. THESE VISITS HELP STUDENTS HAVE A MUCH BETTER UNDERSTANDING OF HOW AGRICULTURE DIRECTLY AFFECTS THEM ON A DAILY BASIS.
