Mission

Prioritizing actions to more walkable communities.

990-EZ for the year ended December 31, 2024

Program accomplishments

  • Applied for and managed at least four grants, with outcomes resulting in matching grant funds to sponsorship and trolley revenues by more than 50%. Advanced (TDM) transportation demand management projects in the areas of community engagement, planning, technical assistance in walkable communities, marketing and incentives in collaboration with business and community-based partners involving ten plus Vermont municipalities: Burlington, South Burlington, Winooski, Williston, Essex, St. Albans, Middlebury, Barre, Bristol, and Vergennes). Added capacity and amplified the impact of partner service organizations (i.e., family resource centers, transit agencies, regional planning commissions, energy committees, area food shelves and pantries, planning projects, senior living facilities, community groups, health and wellness through institutions HR departments, active mobility groups, professional and volunteer advocates/organizations; and technical assistance to businesses and decision-makers representing State of Vermont, regions, businesses and municipalities. 1080 trolleys distributed in 2024 with trolley sales averaging $41.50/trolley. Collected and synthesized trolley user transportation and travel behavior data. Walk resource maps for several communities used to help educate people about their travel, food, walking resource and service options; these walking maps were used for engaging people. Improved general public health and wellness through transportation tools, education, and incentives--to help people more readily access food and public transit, improve active and shared mobility habits, and encourage people to walk and enjoy their community, social interaction and improved transportation efficiency options. Organizational strategic planning underway to explore how increased collaboration with Vermont Clean Communities Coalition could complement and accelerate the mission and vision of Net Zero Vermont, Inc.
