Program accomplishments
- 2025 Accomplishments Tangible Hope FoundationTangible Hope has built a school in Langano, Ethiopia in a community where no school existed before. It was opened in a ceremony attended by many government dignitaries who pledged a cooperative agreement where the government is providing certified teachers and supplies to the school. The school building, Desks and blackboards were all provided by Tangible hope through a generous sponsor in the US. Tangible Hope has received an Award of Merit from the president of Oromia and the Oromia Tourism Commissioner for 15 years of unwavering commitment to empowering and educating young girls un rural Ethiopia. Tangible Hope Foundation continues to serve a total of 100 girls in Langano, Kofele and Sidamo. We have continued to deliver basic health care, including medicines to treat parasites. Also, we delivered daily nutrition to each girl along with cooking oil and grains for the whole family to encourage them to keep their girls in school. Once the girls are healthy, they are ready to learn. Thats when they receive their school uniforms and supplies and after-school tutoring. This method of giving the girls the over-all support and mentorship they need to become educated, literate young women is working! As they matriculate through grade school and high school, they emerge ready for university. Ramete, for example, who has been served by Tangible Hope since age 7, has graduated from nursing college in 2023 and is now practicing her new career as a nurse. She is a shining example of the success Tangible Hope is seeing in meeting our mission to educate and empower young girls. We look forward to continuing to support each girl as she travels along her path to a bright future both for herself and her community.Direct Services delivered to 100 girls in Ethiopia:20 hours of tutoring/girl/week = 88,000 hours of tutoring/yearOne nutritious meal/day to 100 girls = 22,000 meals/yearBasic health care to 100 girlsHealth/hygiene education to 100 girls with visiting nurses 2 times/monthSchool uniforms for 100 girlsSchool books and supplies for 100 girlsParticipation in community projects to grow food, clean up the village and plant trees Founder/CEO 40 hours/week, direct services programming, 60%, Administrative time 25%, fund raising 15%.
