TO IMPROVE COMMUNICATIONS BETWEEN NURSE PRACTITIONERS, OTHER HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONALS, HEALTHCARE ORGANIZATIONS AND THE COMMUNITY. TO PROMOTE THE PRACTICE OF NURSE PRACTITIONERS THROUGH THE LEGISLATIVE AND REGULATORY PROCESSES. TO PROVIDE CONTINUING EDUCATION PROGRAMS FOR NURSE PRACTITIONERS. TO ADVOCATE FOR AFFORDABLE, ACCESSIBLE QUALITY HEALTH CARE.

- SEE SCHEDULE OTHE PENNSYLVANIA COALITION OF NURSE PRACTITIONERS (WWW.PACNP.ORG), WHICH REPRESENTS THE INTERESTS OF OVER 9,900 CERTIFIED REGISTERED NURSE PRACTITIONERS (CRNPS) THROUGHOUT THE COMMONWEALTH, HAS SET THE HIGHEST STANDARDS FOR PROMOTING ACCESS TO CARE AND PROMOTING THE NURSE PRACTITIONER PROFESSION IN PENNSYLVANIA. THE NURSE PRACTITIONER PROFESSION DESIRES TO PROVIDE CARE TO THE FULLEST EXTENT OF OUR EDUCATION AND CLINICAL EXPERTISE, AND OUR ASSOCIATION WORKS WITH STAKEHOLDERS, ELECTED OFFICIALS AND THE NP MEMBERS TO REACH THIS GOAL. FOR OVER 40 YEARS, RESEARCH HAS DEMONSTRATED THAT NURSE PRACTITIONERS PROVIDE SAFE, HIGH QUALITY CARE. OUR PROFESSION IS FILLING A VITAL NEED IN PENNSYLVANIA AND ACROSS THE COUNTRY. WITH SHORTAGES IN VARIOUS AREAS OF HEALTHCARE, AND MORE THAN 45 MILLION UNINSURED AMERICANS, NURSE PRACTITIONERS ARE AN EXCELLENT SOLUTION TO THIS COUNTRY'S HEALTHCARE CHALLENGES, ESPECIALLY IN PROVIDING CARE THAT FOCUSES ON WELLNESS, HEALTH PROMOTION AND PREVENTION AND MANAGEMENT OF ACUTE AND CHRONIC DISEASES. PENNSYLVANIA CURRENTLY HAS THE 5TH LARGEST POPULATION OF NPS NATIONALLY, AND OUR ASSOCIATION IS COMMITTED TO REMOVING LEGISLATIVE AND REGULATORY BARRIERS TO PRACTICE, PROMOTING PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION AND PRACTICE, AND ADVOCATING FOR AFFORDABLE, ACCESSIBLE QUALITY CARE. WE PARTNER WITH ORGANIZATIONS AT BOTH THE STATE AND FEDERAL LEVEL TO MEET THE STATED GOALS. OUR MEMBERS ARE MASTERS AND DOCTORALLY PREPARED NURSES WHO WORK IN ALL HEALTHCARE SETTINGS (HOSPITALS, CLINICS, SHELTERS, PRIVATE PRACTICE AND LONG TERM CARE FACILITIES, TO NAME A FEW) AND HAVE A HIGH LEVEL OF PROFESSIONAL INVOLVEMENT.
