  • PARENT CAREGIVER PLAYWRIGHTS GROUP THIS PROGRAMMING WAS TO SUPPORT A PLAYWRIGHTS GROUP WHO ARE ALSO CAREGIVERS AS WELL. THE CREATION OF THIS GROUP IS AN ACT OF RECOGNITION THAT THE PARTICULAR DEMANDS ON CAREGIVER WRITERS - ESPECIALLY DURING AN UNPREDICTABLE AND ONGOING PANDEMIC - CONTINUE TO HACK AWAY AT OUR CREATIVE TIME IN INVISIBLE AND ISOLATING WAYS. IT IS ALSO A SHOW OF CONFIDENCE THAT AN ARTISTIC CAREER DOES NOT HAVE TO BE DERAILED BY THE DEMANDS OF CAREGIVING. WE SUPPORTED THIS GROUP THROUGH RENTAL OF REHEARSAL SPACE, STIPENDS FOR EACH PLAYWRIGHT, AND 2 PUBLIC READINGS OF THEIR NEW WORK. WE SEEK TO SUPPORT PARENT PLAYWRIGHTS IN THE CREATION AND PRESENTATION OF ORIGINAL WORK, AND ARE COMMITTED TO FOREGROUNDING DIVERSE POINTS OF VIEW FROM HISTORICALLY UNDERREPRESENTED VOICES.
