Mission
To engage and educate communities to prevent sexual violence and to support survivors and their loved ones as they heal and thrive.
Program accomplishments
- Counseling - DARCC provides no-cost, trauma-informed counseling services for survivors of sexual violence and their loved ones through individual, family, couples, and group therapy. Services are delivered by licensed, master's-level clinicians and supervised interns utilizing evidence-based interventions including EMDR, Cognitive Processing Therapy, mindfulness practices, expressive arts, and other survivor-centered therapeutic approaches. In 2025, counseling services continued to be offered both virtually and in person in English and Spanish to increase accessibility and reduce barriers to care. DARCC clinicians served 342 primary survivors through individual and group counseling, providing more than 3,151 individual counseling sessions and facilitating 179 therapeutic group sessions focused on healing, resilience, and community connection. In 2025 a "Healing Through Expressions Group" was added, offering survivors an in-person group opportunity that focuses on healing through art, movement, and meditation.Expenses $583,431
- Advocacy - DARCC provides immediate, trauma-informed support to survivors of sexual violence through its 24/7 hotline, hospital accompaniment, legal advocacy, and ongoing case management services. All advocates, including staff and volunteers, complete a comprehensive 40-hour Office of the Attorney General-approved sexual assault advocacy training to ensure survivors receive compassionate, expert care during moments of crisis and throughout the healing process. In 2025, DARCC advocates and volunteers responded to 2,289 hotline calls totaling 663 hours of direct crisis support, accompanied 386 survivors during forensic sexual assault exams, and provided advocacy and support services to 1,265 (unduplicated) survivors and loved ones. Volunteer advocates contributed more than 19,852 hours of crisis response and survivor support across Dallas County and surrounding communities.Expenses $544,181
- Community Engagement - DARCC works to prevent sexual violence through education, awareness, and community mobilization across North Texas. Through customized trainings, public awareness initiatives, and leadership development opportunities, DARCC equips schools, businesses, healthcare providers, faith communities, and youth leaders with tools to recognize, respond to, and prevent sexual violence. In 2025, DARCC continued to evolve its education and outreach efforts to expand access to prevention education and survivor-centered resources through scalable and accessible formats not limited by geography or staffing capacity. As part of this effort, DARCC coordinated and hosted 11 virtual "Lunch & Learn" educational sessions throughout the year featuring national experts on topics related to trauma, prevention, advocacy, and survivor support. These virtual offerings allowed DARCC to broaden community access to high-quality educational content beyond traditional in-person presentations and trainings. DARCC also facilitated three trainings for its Survivor Speakers Bureau (SSB), empowering survivors to safely and effectively share their lived experiences to promote community education and advocacy. Several SSB members participated in DARCC's volunteer advocacy training through a survivor panel that helped prepare new advocates to provide survivor-centered support. DARCC additionally launched The Radiant Report, an ongoing blog featured on the organization's website that provides educational content, survivor-centered resources, and community conversations focused on healing, prevention, and community engagement.Expenses $259,540
