Mission
The mission and purpose of the Walla Walla Chamber Music Festival (WWCMF) is to promote excellence in the performance of chamber music throughout the greater Walla Walla Valley area, to embody these qualities as members of a greater community, and to raise the general level of interest in classical music, especially chamber music, in the Walla Walla Valley area. WWCMF strives to serve audiences through the following measures: Performance of chamber music works across the entire aesthetic spectrum of classical music. WWCMF also actively seeks to partner with other artists and art media to create multi-faceted performances that promote additional fine arts media. Promotion of new works by partnering with present-day composers in the commissioning and creation of new works to expand the contemporary music repertoire. Presentation of educational programs to expand the means for understanding and appreciating classical music.
Program accomplishments
- The purpose of the Walla Walla Chamber Music Festival is to further the accessibility, performance, and awareness of the art of chamber music in the Walla Walla Valley. In January 2025, the Winter Festival was attended by 717 individuals at four ticketed concerts. In June of 2025, there were 2603 audience members at sixteen ticketed concerts. In addition, during the June Festival, once again, outreach concerts were provided for 1830 attendees, none of whom paid admission. These free community concerts included a concert at each of the five Walla Walla elementary schools (total attendance 1327), four childrens concerts, one in the outlying community of Dayton and three in Walla Walla, two concerts at the VA Medical Center, and open rehearsals at three local businesses: the Odd Fellows home, Mercer Wine Estates, and Green Valley Garden.Expenses $296,823 · revenue $289,862
