- BALLET WICHITA ADVANCES ITS MISSION TO CONNECT, INSPIRE, AND ENRICH COMMUNITIES THROUGH PROFESSIONAL BALLET PERFORMANCE, PROFESSIONAL-STANDARD PROGRESSIVE DANCE TRAINING, AND MEANINGFUL COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT. AS KANSASS ONLY PROFESSIONAL BALLET COMPANY, BALLET WICHITA PRESENTS A DYNAMIC ANNUAL SEASON SERVING DIVERSE AUDIENCES ACROSS THE REGION. THE SEASON INCLUDES A FULL-LENGTH CLASSICAL OR CONTEMPORARY PRODUCTION EACH FALL, THE CHERISHED HOLIDAY PRODUCTION OF THE NUTCRACKER, AND A SPRING PRODUCTION THAT HIGHLIGHTS THE HISTORY, CULTURE, AND DIVERSE VOICES OF THE WICHITA COMMUNITY. THESE PERFORMANCES UPHOLD HIGH ARTISTIC STANDARDS WHILE ENSURING ACCESSIBILITY AND CIVIC RELEVANCE. DURING THE SUMMER MONTHS, BALLET WICHITA EXPANDS ITS REGIONAL IMPACT THROUGH TOURING PRODUCTIONS THROUGHOUT KANSAS AND NEIGHBORING STATES. THESE PERFORMANCES INCREASINGLY INTEGRATE LITERACY-CENTERED THEMES AND EDUCATIONAL PARTNERSHIPS, USING STORYTELLING THROUGH MOVEMENT TO SUPPORT YOUTH DEVELOPMENT AND STRENGTHEN CONNECTIONS BETWEEN THE ARTS AND EDUCATION. THROUGH BALLET WICHITA ACADEMY, THE ORGANIZATION PROVIDES STRUCTURED PRE- PROFESSIONAL TRAINING ALONGSIDE INCLUSIVE COMMUNITY-BASED INSTRUCTION FOR STUDENTS OF ALL AGES AND EXPERIENCE LEVELS. PROGRESSIVE CURRICULUM, SUMMER INTENSIVES, AND PERFORMANCE OPPORTUNITIES CULTIVATE DISCIPLINE, ARTISTRY, AND LEADERSHIP WHILE DEVELOPING THE NEXT GENERATION OF ARTISTS AND ARTS ADVOCATES.
